June 17, 2014: I have red hair and when got my wisdom teeth removed, my father told me that they had to use more than the regular amount of anesthetics usually needed. At first, I thought nothing of it. Then, when I later started a research paper on red hair, I found out that people with red hair generally need around 20% more anesthetics than people with other hair colors. Why is that? Is it because my MC1R gene is mutated, or is it something else completely.

March 6, 2014: I have been wondering this for a while since I've seen it pop up on various websites and forums…will red hair eventually go extinct? I honestly don't believe it will because it is recessive from what I know, and recessive genes don't up and disappear.

July 9, 2013: Did Rh- blood come from Neanderthals?  I have seen postings on the web that say that it entered human DNA around 35,000 years ago and that seems about right for coming from Neanderthals.

May 22, 2013: I have a question about the possibility of there being an eye color gene on the Y chromosome.  In my family, my paternal grandfather had a very distinct shade of blue eyes. My father, brother and nephew (brother’s son) all have blue eyes. Only the males in our family have blue eyes.  My mother and sister-in-law have green eyes.  When you look at the four generations of males it seems like the blue eyes have only been passed father to son.
