My husband just learned who his birth parents are. Unfortunately both are deceased. The birth father’s family wants my husband and the last surviving sibling (an aunt) to be tested to make sure the birth mother named the right guy! I understand the test they need is called an avuncular test. Is there a specific type of lab that we can use to make sure they are testing enough and properly to try to achieve the most conclusive result, whichever way that goes? There are so many types of labs on the web...

My brother and I recently used the DNA testing company MyHeritage and the results said we shared 38% of our DNA. We are confused because we thought full siblings shared 50% and half siblings shared 25% of their DNA. Why are we right in the middle?

My mother and I both had DNA tests and our results turned out a bit different. She is related to someone as a 4th-6th cousin and I am not. Since she is my mom, shouldn’t we both be related to her?

I am a woman with two half-sisters and a half-brother. My half siblings are full siblings to each other. We share the same father and different mothers. Is it likely I am more related to my half-sisters than my half-brother?

My cousin (who is 6 months older than me) and I are in love with each other. I heard that there may be a chance of genetic disorders in the next generation if we both marry.
Actually his father and my grandmother are brother and sister. My cousin had a problem with his eye...not a very big problem but one of his eyes is smaller.
Now if I marry him is there any chance of happening the same thing to my next generation?
