Why would an uncle and nephew share large identical segments on the X chromosome? Could this mean parents/grandparents were related in some kind of way?

My son's father has a half-sister. She has a daughter. How are the son and daughter related?

Can you please explain why half-siblings share 25% of their genes? If 50% comes from each parent, then they should, in theory have 50% from the common parent. I know this is not so, but I do not know why.

I took the 23andMe test and found a relative that shares 22.2% DNA with me, over 33 segments. I am 31, and he is 27, from the same country. We figured that we cannot be grandmother and grandson, since we are too close in age. Does this mean we are half brother and sister? Is there any other possibility?

I am wondering what kind of a test I could use to determine whether or not someone who I always thought was my cousin is actually my cousin. I am male and she was (supposedly) my father's brother's daughter; however I have overheard aunts and uncles hinting that she may not actually be my uncle’s daughter. How could I determine the truth?

I know that a person is 50% related to their mom and 50% related to their dad. My question is whether or not siblings could range from 0-100% related? Is the 50% that people talk about with brothers and sisters just a mean value?

Am I more genetically related to my grandson (my daughter's son) or to my nephew (my full sister's son)?

I read your article on paternal grandmothers sharing more DNA with their granddaughters who are the children of their sons. It made me wonder if granddaughters are likely to share more DNA with their paternal aunts than with maternal aunts.

I am a male. Does my son inherit any genetic material from my mother? Or do I only pass on my Y chromosome (inherited from father intact)?

If people with the same DNA have a child, will it be a clone or will the child be deformed in some way (like in incest)? For instance, what if a sperm and an egg have the same DNA?
