My brother and I recently used the DNA testing company MyHeritage and the results said we shared 38% of our DNA. We are confused because we thought full siblings shared 50% and half siblings shared 25% of their DNA. Why are we right in the middle?

My twins each did a 23andMe DNA test and the results verified that they are identical; however, their ancestry composition is not!

My sister and I had our DNA tested. We were raised with the same mother and same father - both are deceased. There has been talk in the family that we have different fathers.
Our ancestry test came back similar; however, we are not sure how much difference there should be in the percentages. For example: I am 50% Great Britain my sister is 39%, I am 10% Scandinavia my sister is 28% and other differences are 1 - 3%

Neanderthal DNA analysis has shown that they were very in-bred. Has the DNA of Homo sapiens shown that they too were very in-bred and if so when did in-breeding stop?

My mother and I both had DNA tests and our results turned out a bit different. She is related to someone as a 4th-6th cousin and I am not. Since she is my mom, shouldn’t we both be related to her?
